El Barrio is a festival for music and culture in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Inspired by the spanish word »barrio« (transl.: neighbourhood), it aspires to be the lively and multifarious counter model to the anonymous, faceless city.

»About an Island« is a document about encounters with an island in the Pacific Ocean. Black and white photographs illustrate a place that grants its visitors space to explore. Historically islands have often been described as places of self-discovery and contentment. About an Island is an attempt to capture the aura of islands as niches of utopia.
